The Saline County Attorney is an official elected to a four-year term of office. The County Attorney is considered the top law official in Saline County and is counsel to Saline County and its elected officials. The County Attorney is responsible for the investigation and criminal prosecution of all felony and misdemeanor crimes that occur within all of Saline County. This office is also responsible for a number of other duties as defined by the Nebraska State Statute. The County Attorney also represents Saline County in civil lawsuits and involuntary mental health commitments, juvenile court actions, determination of inheritance tax and tax foreclosures. The Saline County Attorney and deputies shall perform all duties enjoined by law upon the county coroner and shall be ex-officio county coroner.
